In 2018 the Catholic Safeguarding Association (CSAS), in conjunction with the National Catholic Safeguarding Service (NCSS), published a document entitled "Guidance for arranging Pilgrimages involving children, young people and adults at risk", and to which the BLMA contributed. It is intended to provide guidance on good practice for those involved in the running of pilgrimages, not neccessarily, but perhaps in the majority, to Lourdes. The intended audience include Pilgrimage Directors, Safeguarding Leads and Health and Safety Leads, so not all of it is relevant to clinicians, but there is much for clinical staff to gain from reviewing it with their own arrangements in mind.
