We are pleased to announce the BLMA Conference 2020, and the AGM of the British Lourdes Medical Association. These will be held virtually by Zoom on Saturday 31st October, with a full programme of plenaries, outside speakers and workshops. It will come as no surprise that the focus of the meeting is about clinical care on pilgrimage in a post COVID world.
Very few, if any of us, were able to make a pilgrimage to Lourdes with sick this year, and we know that our care for them in the years to come will be altered in many ways, bringing new challenges for us.
The BLMA represents nurses and doctors, as well as other healthcare professionals, who together have years of expertise in the field of pilgrimage medical care. Developing new safe ways of caring that will allow us to continue helping pilgrims benefit safely from the experience of Lourdes is a crucial task for all of us. Working together we can influence what pilgrimage in 2021 and beyond will look like. This conference will be the start of that process.
